Nissan discovered a software error that may lead to the rear camera displaying a blank screen for an extended period when the vehicle is placed in reverse, exceeding the time limits set by U.S. safety regulations.

Additionally, a second notice pertains to 3,230 units of the Infiniti QX80, which share similar software issues. In these vehicles, the rear camera may freeze and show a blank screen when the vehicle initiates reversing. These defects found in both recalls signify a failure to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111, known as “Rear Visibility,” which mandates that rear displays must begin functioning within a maximum of two seconds.
